1. General Use
We are Geekin’ provides a platform for the Mauritian geek community to connect, shop, and engage. You agree to use this site for lawful purposes only and in a way that does not infringe the rights of others or restrict their use of the platform.
2. The Private Club Subscription
By subscribing to the We are Geekin’ Private Club, you agree to the following:
- Subscription Fee: The cost is Rs 250 per month, billed on a recurring basis.
- Perks: Membership grants access to monthly events (subject to booking/availability), marketplace discounts, and a monthly raffle.
- The Raffle: Winners are selected at random. Prizes are non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash.
- Cancellation: You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings. No pro-rated refunds are offered for the remaining days of a billing cycle.
3. The Marketplace (Multi-Vendor Platform)
We are Geekin’ operates an “Etsy-style” marketplace where various sellers list products.
- Role of WAG: We provide the platform. Unless stated otherwise, the contract for sale is directly between the buyer and the seller.
- Product Accuracy: Sellers are responsible for the descriptions and quality of their items.
- Right of Removal: We are Geekin’ reserves the absolute right to suspend, disable, or permanently remove any store or product listing that violates these Terms and Conditions, or is deemed harmful to the community, without prior notice.
- Prohibition of Illegal Goods: The sale of items that are illegal under the laws of the Republic of Mauritius is strictly prohibited. Sellers must ensure their inventory complies with all local regulations.
- Prohibited Items List: For the safety of our community, the following items (non-exhaustive) are strictly forbidden from being listed or sold on our marketplace:
- Vaping Products: Electronic cigarettes, e-liquids, and related accessories.
- Counterfeit Goods: Unauthorized “bootleg” merchandise, pirated software, or fake designer items.
- Obscene Materials: Pornographic or offensive media that violates Mauritian public decency laws.
- Weapons: Firearms, underwater fishing guns, “yoyo water balls,” and dangerous projectiles.
- Controlled Substances: Illegal drugs, CBD products, and prescription-only medications.
- Endangered Species: Products made from ivory, tortoise shells, or protected wildlife.
- Disputes: While we will do our best to facilitate communication, We are Geekin’ is not liable for disputes arising from shipping delays, product defects, or third-party seller errors.
4. Privacy & Communication
Your privacy is important to us.
- Data Collection: We collect your email address and name during registration to manage your account and subscription.
- No-Spam Promise: We will use your email to send you important updates, event invites, and community news. We promise not to spam you or sell your data to third parties.
- Opt-Out: You can unsubscribe from our marketing emails at any time via the “Unsubscribe” link at the bottom of our mailings.
5. Community Events & Conduct
- Bookings: Private Club events are on a “first-come, first-served” booking basis.
- Liability: We are Geekin’ is not responsible for any loss, injury, or damage sustained during physical events. By attending, you agree to follow the code of conduct and respect other members.
- Discord: Access to our Discord server requires adherence to our server-specific rules. We reserve the right to remove members who exhibit toxic or harmful behavior.
6. Limitation of Liability
We are Geekin’ is provided “as is.” We do not guarantee that the website will always be available or error-free. To the maximum extent permitted by Mauritian law, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the site or marketplace.
7. Governing Law
These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of The Republic of Mauritius. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Mauritian courts.
